Alondra Gonzalez Joins NCLD Board of Directors

The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) is delighted to announce the appointment of Alondra Gonzalez to its board of directors. Gonzalez was elected by her peers from the organization’s Young Adult Leadership Council (YALC) for a 15-month term on the board. She succeeds Rachelle Johnson, the board’s first young adult representative, and will uphold the organization’s mission of creating opportunities for success for people with learning disabilities and attention issues. Gonzalez will also play a crucial role in representing the voices of young adults in NCLD’s day-to-day governance and serving as a liaison between YALC and the board.

As someone who has experienced firsthand the lack of resources available for individuals with learning disabilities, Gonzalez is deeply committed to raising awareness and advocating for change to benefit future generations. She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from The University of Texas RIO Grande Valley, in Sciences & Psychology and Multidisciplinary Studies (chemistry, biology, and American sign language). Gonzalez’s leadership qualities are reflected in her past roles as the former Chief of Staff for the Student Government Association at the university, former Vice President for Texas Southmost College chapter ofAlpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She is also actively involved in volunteering at Brownsville Animal Defense while working as a medical assistant and pursuing a future track to medical school.

NCLD welcomes Alondra Gonzalez to its board of directors as a valuable asset in furthering its goal to enhance outcomes for individuals with learning and attention issues. The board looks forward to working collaboratively with her towards achieving its goals.
