Omar Aguilar is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Schwab Asset Management, where he is responsible for leading and overseeing the firm’s investment strategies and the Schwab Center for Financial Research. He has more than 25 years of experience in investment management, including prior roles at Financial Engines and ING Investment Management (now Voya).

He joined the NCLD Board in 2026. He is also the parent of a Charles Armstrong School alum and has seen firsthand how the school changes students’ lives.

He was a Fulbright Scholar at Duke University’s Institute of Statistics and Decision Sciences, where he earned his master’s degree and doctorate. He also earned degrees in actuarial science and applied statistics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM).
