Erica Richards, MSN, CNM, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner with a passion for supporting children and families navigating mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges. As the mother of two children diagnosed with specific learning disorders and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Erica brings a unique and deeply personal perspective to her clinical and academic work. Her dual roles—as both a healthcare provider and a parent—have fueled her commitment to advocacy, education, and systemic change.

Inspired by her firsthand experiences advocating for her own children, Erica is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing with a research focus on learning disorders and neurodiversity. Her academic work centers on improving early identification, supporting evidence-based intervention and instruction, and supporting children with learning differences, as well as empowering parents and educators to become effective advocates.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Erica finds joy in spending quality time with her family, staying active through regular exercise, and continuously seeking new opportunities for personal and professional growth.
