NCLD Welcomes New Board Representatives from Family and Young Adult Leadership Councils
Washington, D.C. — August 21, 2025 — The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) is proud to announce the appointment of two new representatives to its board of directors: Erica Richards, MSN, CNM, PMHNP-BC, from its Family Leadership Council (FLC), and Dylan Sullivan, from its Young Adult Leadership Council (YALC).
Erica Richards, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and mother of two children with learning disabilities and ADHD, brings both professional and deeply personal insight to her role. Currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing with a research focus on learning disabilities and neurodiversity, Erica is committed to improving early identification, evidence-based interventions, and empowering caregivers and educators. Her unique perspective bridges clinical practice and advocacy, and is a founding member of NCLD’s Family Leadership Council since 2024.
Dylan Sullivan, the newly appointed YALC representative, serves as the neurodiversity liaison and student success specialist at the University of Maine at Augusta. As an established advocate and successful collaborator, Dylan brings both his lived experience and cultivated expertise in supporting neurodivergent students. He has published work in The Journal of Science Education for Students with Disabilities and New Directions in Higher Education. He also serves on the Maine State Rehabilitation Council, shaping employment policies for individuals with disabilities.
“These two new representatives embody the mission and values of NCLD,” said Dr. Jacqueline Rodriguez, CEO of NCLD. “Erica and Dylan’s experiences, professional expertise, and commitment to systemic change are critical as we work to create a more inclusive and supportive society for individuals with learning disabilities.”
