Senator Cassidy continues to lead the effort for children with dyslexia and learning disabilities in today’s Senate Education Committee debate.  But he needs our help – now!

Please call, tweet, and send a Facebook message to your Senator ASAP!

Here are talking points for your call:

  • I urge Senator [name] to vote for Cassidy Title II Amendment #2 during today’s debate over the Every Child Achieves Act of 2015. I am a parent of a child with dyslexia/learning disabilities from [city, state].
  • This amendment would ensure that children with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities have the resources and supports they need to academically succeed.
  • Dyslexia is the most common learning disability affecting 80-90% of all children with a learning disability. There are over 2.5 million students with learning disabilities in our country.
  • The Cassidy Amendment would ensure that the new federal literacy program being proposed in this bill would take into account students with dyslexia/learning disabilities, the very students who struggle the most with reading and writing.
  • It’s time that Congress make a bold statement and ensure that children with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities have the resources they need to succeed in school and life.
  • I urge Senator [name] to vote ‘yes’ on the Cassidy Title II #2 amendment. Will you contact me to let me know how Senator [name] voted?

Then, let us know what you hear! Email with any feedback from your Senators.
