Kena Mayberry, Ph.D.

Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Kena R. Mayberry is the Chief Operating Officer at the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). As a transformational leader with foresight and expertise in Organizational Psychology and Change Management, Dr. Mayberry provides leadership and oversight of NCLD’s organizational operations.  

Dr. Mayberry has over 20 years of Business Operations Management experience, where she has specialized in continuous process improvement strategies, organizational benchmarking, business process re-engineering, and strategic planning. Her experience spans across multiple dynamic industries and has been influential to many well-known industry leaders and brand ambassadors. Dr. Mayberry is highly mission-driven, and she enjoys helping organizations achieve their desired visions and performance goals.

Prior to joining NCLD, Dr. Mayberry served as the Organizational Change Management Subject Matter Expert for the Department of Defense. She was appointed as the Director of Operations at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, NY, a research library under the New York Public Library; and she currently serves as Senior Editor for the Journal of Social Change as well as the Journal of Social, Behavioral and Health Sciences.

Kena considers herself a “lifelong learner” with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. She completed her Bachelors in Psychology at George Mason University, a Masters in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Walden University. Dr. Mayberry also holds a Post-Doctorate Certificate in Human Resource Management as well as a Post-Doctorate Certificate in Social Impact Management.  

When not riding her motorcycle in her free time, Kena enjoys spending quality time with family and friends or writing music.
