Cassia Schifter is a member of NCLD’s Development and Young Adult Committees.
She currently works as an Associate Tasting Coordinator for Wine Spectator magazine and has been in the food and wine industry for over 10 years.
Cassia grew up in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Amherst College in 2006. Since then, she has earned a Master Cheese Certification, graduated second in her class at The International Culinary Center’s Intensive Sommelier Program and qualified as a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Why are you an advocate for individuals with learning disabilities?
“Growing up with learning and attention issues, I struggled as a result of stigma and educators’ lack of LD awareness. I hope to spread awareness and reduce stigma to ensure people with learning and attention issues of all ages get the support they need.”
