Other NCLD Sites

The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) operates a family of websites. Our flagship site, LD.org, provides essential information to parents, professionals, and individuals with learning disabilities (LD); promotes research and programs to foster effective learning; and advocates for policies to protect and strengthen educational rights and opportunities.

Learn more below about our two other sites: GetReadytoRead.org and RTINetwork.org.  We invite you to visit them!

Get Ready to Read! (GRTR!), is NCLD's national initiative that seeks to build the early literacy skills of preschool-age children by providing parents, educators, health-care professional and advocates with literacy screening and learning activities as part of early childhood education, child-care, and parenting practices.

The Get Ready to Read! website features an array of tools, activities, and information, including:

  • An easy-to-administer, research-based screening tool (in English and Spanish)
  • Online games and downloadable literacy activity cards
  • A "transition to kindergarten" toolkit

Also available is the Early Learning & Literacy Newsletter, a free, monthly email newsletter that highlights activities and resources of interest to parents, early childhood educators, and child care professionals, based on NCLD's Get Ready to Read! program.
